The amount of storage you purchase with any of our plans can be allocated as you desire. However, the collective usage of storage space under the account must remain under that amount or you will need to upgrade your package to store more. You can even over allocate. So for example you could purchase a 10GB package, allocate 5GB storage each to 100 email addresses, and the limit would only be hit when the combined real usage actually reaches 10GB.

Absolutely not. Please use of the the providers who are specialized in sending promotional mails. Mailix is for daily business or personal use only. You can send invitations for even larger parties or events with your email service. But do not send newsletters to 1000 customers. This will also be against our usage terms and can under certain condition even lead to closing your account.
Yes, of course. All we have to do is to transfer the domain to us as your future domain service provider. Because Email requires a lot of domain name entries (DNS), we need to have access to DNS of your domain. In special cases it is also possible to continue to use your current DNS servers, but you have to make sure that all the needed DNS records are inserted to the zone file of your domain at your current domain service provider. We do not offer refunds. Please do not sign up unless you are comfortable with your choice. Since our services will be customized for your order there is also no free return right for customers as usual with online orders within the EU. See § 18 FAGG
Yes. You can purchase web space for a home page at any homepage provider you want. You just need to forward us the DNS information you get from your home page provider to connect your web space with your domain. We will do the connection free of charge. But please be careful when ordering web space to NOT transfer your domain to the home page provider. If you do so, your email will immediatelly stop to work. Your received mails won’t be lost, but it may take days until you can receive and send emails again. Sometimes even weeks. When ordering the web space select “I will use my own DNS name server” to prevent any domain transfer away from us.
This would be a very bad situation, as we need direct access to your domain name zone file (DNS). If the domain is transferred elsewhere, those access stops and with it all email traffic. Usually it is not easy to get the domain back from the new provider so it may take days or even weeks without email until the situation is resolved. You can ask your new provider yourself to give it back under our control, the email will automatically restart to work once the domain is back. If we need to work with you and/or the new provider to solve the situation, there would be a lot of work so we would have to charge a € 100 one-time fee for that. Just be careful to avoid such situation.
It is your domain name. After you cancel our services you can choose to hold your domain. But you will need to transfer it to another domain provider to take care of it as we will also stop domain providing and DNS services for you. You can also choose to purchase a DNS service from our owner company Set IT Free Medien GmbH and pay the registration fees for your domain name to the registry directly.
There is always a catch when using one of those big free email service companies. First you do not own your email address. The email company does. It can take it away from you if it likes to. They can exclude you from their services without warning or even go out of business. Second there is no free service. You pay with your data or with advertisments. And third those big companies are often abused and therefore not totally reliable with sending and receiving mail. A perfectly working email service is a must in our time. With Mailix you own your email address as long as YOU like. You can even use another email provider after closing business with us. Your email adress stays. And with Mailix’ focus at reliable and secure email communication you can rest asure that you won’t loose any important message and are protected from SPAM and viruses.
Your internet access service provider focuses at their network and their access services. Email is just a side service they give to you. Mailix specializes in email services and makes sure your email system will work flawlessly, most secure and always reliable. And -as above- the email address from your access provider does not belong to you. If you ever cancel their services you will loose it and with it each access to every online account you used it for.
