Black/White Lists
With Mailix, you can create so-called black and white lists in the Mailix UI either as a domain administrator across your entire domain or as a mailbox owner for your mailbox only.
What are black and white lists?
- A blacklist blocks the delivery of messages sent from registered email addresses.
- A white list allows explicitly and independently of its SPAM value the delivery of messages sent from registered e-mail addresses.
What can be entered into these lists?
- Domain names, then all e-mail addresses of the entered domain are treated accordingly
- E-mail addresses, then only the entered e-mail address will be treated accordingly
- IP addresses, in this case the mail server with this IP address will be treated accordingly.
Is there a limit of entered values?
No, both the white list and the black list can have any number of entries.
How do cross-domain and mailbox restricted lists affect each other?
The cross-domain list affects all addresses in your e-mail domain. The mailbox-restricted list only affects messages sent to that mailbox. The cross-domain and mailbox restricted lists are merged before application. If the entries in the black and white lists are equal, the white list wins.
