SPAM Handling
Individual SPAM treatment
Every e-mail message Mailix receives. automatically gets a so-called “SPAM score” (see: What is the SPAM score).
Based on this SPAM score different actions are triggered. You can set these actions globally for all your e-mail addresses in your domain as well as for each individual e-mail address.
General SPAM handling at Mailix
If you do not change anything or dispose differently the basic setting of the actions at Mailix is as follows:
Action | SPAM score |
---|---|
Soft-Reject (Greylisting) | 7 |
SPAM header (X-SPAM flag: YES) | 7.5 |
‘***SPAM****’ Note in subject | 8 |
reject | 15 |
The “SPAM header” action also causes an automatic sorting of a message into the SPAM folder.
Does Mailix use a quarantine system?
In order not to make the email system unnecessarily complicated, we do not use a quarantine system. Emails are marked as SPAM and automatically sorted into the SPAM (junk) folder of a mailbox or -in case of a very high SPAM score- completely rejected (not accepted).
Can I really set any SPAM handling freely?
You can freely set the SPAM handling of your messages globally for your entire domain as well as individually per mailbox depending on the SPAM score.
With one exception:
The rejection of SPAM messages with a SPAM score of 15 or higher is fixed for Mailix and cannot be increased. So you can set that messages with a SPAM score of 10 are already not accepted for you, but you cannot set that SPAM messages with a SPAM score of 20 are still accepted.
