General technologies we use

We use the following software for our services:

Postfix, Dovecot, Rspamd, Clamd, ZoneMTA, ACME, MariaDB, Memcached, Fail2ban, Nginx, Oletools, PHP, Redis, Solr, SOGo, Roundcube, PowerDNS, Docker, Kubernetes and Check_MK on Enterprise Linux servers.

The configuration of all this software was tailored and individualized by our IT specialists to meet our exact needs, creating a perfectly functioning IT orchestra that provides our customers with the high-quality service they expect from us.

E-mail traffic

Incoming

Incoming email arrives directly at the recipient’s server and is automatically scanned and filtered for viruses and SPAM by our synchronized filtering group before being forwarded to the recipient’s mailbox. Customers are spread across multiple servers. Your server is the one where you log in and set up your Mailix services (Mailix UI). Possible names for your server include pamina, zerlina, elektra, carmen, etc.

Outgoing

Outgoing emails leave the mail server where your account resides and go to our filter group. The filter group consists of load balanced rspamd filter servers. From there, your email is scanned for spam and viruses. If spam or a virus is detected, the email is rejected and the server where your account is located notifies you of this with an error message.

If the email passes the filters successfully, it is forwarded to our intelligent mail relays. The relays have an abundance of IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, no less than one /24 IPv4 at any given time. Emails are randomly distributed to all of these IPs. If the delivery of an email fails for a reason that we think might be related to IP reputation, the delivery is retried several times from different IPs. If the email still cannot be delivered, it is forwarded to an external service provider contracted by us. This service provider will then attempt to deliver the email from various other IPs on its email network for up to 24 hours before we return it to the sender (you) with an error message if delivery fails.

Mailix does everything we can to successfully deliver your message to the recipient. All you have to do is to send the email.
