Service Limits
Let’s be clear about two things:
-
Mailix is a full-service email provider for regular email. We are not Mailgun, SendGrid or anything like that. While you can use us for transactional email, you shouldn’t expect us to offer interfaces that companies that typically call themselves transactional email providers offer.
-
Mailix is not an unprotected and indescriminate pipeline designed to transfer bulk email from one place to another in any quantity or quality. That sounds harsh, but we ask for your understanding. Our goal is to get emails you sent to the inbox, not the spam folder, if at all possible (we can’t guarantee it, but we do everything we can to make it happen). This means that your IT neighbor using our service can’t send the same email to the same Gmail address 800 times in an hour just because, for example, he wrote a bad script that he connected to our SMTP server. Garbage messages (such as empty cronjob notifications, the same email hundreds of times in a short period of time, etc.) should not be transmitted through our SMTP queue. We can either be a indescriminate pipeline, or we can target success with inboxes. The idea of doing both is just not possible.
With this in mind, we have limits. And these are:
-
200 outgoing emails per hour, per email address. You should not send messages from multiple addresses just to get around this limit. You can and should separate different use cases that may cause you to exceed the 200 per hour across multiple email addresses, as long as they are legitimate use cases and not an obvious workaround to our limits (e.g. sender1, sender2, sender3 all sending the same email campaign).
-
no marketing.
-
definitely no unsolicited marketing.

no marketing.
-
“Cold outreach” is unsolicited marketing, we can call it by name.
