2-Faktor Authorisation

What is 2-factor authorization (2FA)?

Using a 2-factor authorization, access to an administration interface can be made more secure in addition to the usual user IDs (username, password).

An additional security key is generated via a separate device (usually the smartphone), which must also be entered in addition to the username and password when logging in in order to gain access.

Which accesses can be secured with 2FA at Mailix?

We support securing administrator access to Mailix UI using 2FA.

For technical reasons, mailboxes cannot be secured using 2FA, only username and password can be used.

What 2FA methods does Mailix support?

We support 3 different 2FA methods:

  • Time-based one-time passwords (TOTP)
the most common 2FA method, very easy to set up and use.
  • WebAuthn
  • Yubi OTP
