Keeping email out of spam folders?
It’s a pretty common question:
“Can you guarantee that my emails will end up in the recipient’s inbox and not in the spam folder?”
The clear answer is, of course, no.
Promising that is not even remotely reasonable. Anyone who promises you such a thing is a liar, and is probably in reality hoping that you will never find out the truth.
But there’s also a longer answer:
If someone promises that your emails are always guaranteed to land in the inbox of the receiver, they’re lying. It’s simply not possible to promise that. If you’re wondering how one arrives at this logic, read a slightly reworded, similar example for better understanding:
“Can you guarantee me that everyone we send this letter to will open it and not throw it away? “
You would be incensed at the idea of someone telling you they could promise that, right? When an email is sent, it is passed to a third party (the recipient’s mail server). No one can say what that other person will do; at best, they can give probabilities based on past behavior. You can’t promise someone that you can do something for them that is beyond your control. Neither can we, so we won’t.
